Principles of Finance Textbook
Principles of Finance is a new Finance textbook written by Zvi Bodie, Robert C. Merton, and Richard T. Thakor, and published by Cambridge University Press. The textbook is written for introductory and follow-on courses in Finance at the undergraduate and MBA levels. Principles of Finance differs from other textbooks in that it is structured around ten unifying principles that form the foundation of all of the topics covered. This principles-based approach, combined with clear and methodical explanations of the content throughout, allows students to learn about Finance in an accessible way that is applicable no matter the location and that will remain relevant well into the future.
Key features of the book include:
A focus on ten key principles that all of the topics in the book connect to.
A modular structure that consists of three parts--Principles and Core Concepts, Corporate Finance, and Asset Pricing and Finance Markets--which can be easily adapted to a variety of course structures.
Clear presentation of the material, and explicitly written to avoid excess detail on institutions and markets, ensuring relevance to all institutional and market contexts both now and into the future.
Numerous pedagogical features to help readers, including: learning objectives and major takeaways, applications in the world of business, many worked examples, key equation boxes highlighting the most important financial equations, quick check questions with solutions, key finance terms with a detailed glossary, and more than 380 homework problems.
A suite of online resources, including: a solutions manual, a detailed instructor's manual, lectures slides, an 800-question online test bank for instructors that includes randomized questions, and online content videos by the authors.
